Dr. Michael Peterson, DO

L. Michael Peterson, DO, is a board-certified emergency medicine physician, a critical care transport paramedic, certified medical transport executive, and former motorcycle officer for the city of Santa Rosa, Calif.
Dr. Peterson serves as a full-time medical director for HealthNet Aeromedical Services, a shared service of Cabell Huntington Hospital, Charleston Area Medical Center and West Virginia University Hospitals. He’s a core faculty member for the Emergency Medicine Residency Program at Charleston Area Medical Center and also serves as the program’s emergency medicine clerkship director. He’s the medical director of the Paramedic Training Program for Mount-West Community and Technical College and is also an instructor at the West Virginia State Police Academy.
Dr. Peterson graduated from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2008 and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, WV. Prior to his medical school matriculation, he completed both a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in Medical Sciences. He has extensive experience in public safety and critical incident management.
